Day 1: Visit the floating islands of Uros - Amantani Island Overnight at the home of a local family.


07:45 am.

We transfer you from your hotel to the port of the Lake "Titicaca", where we will catch our local guide with the boat to start our adventure in the Lake. We begin to navigate and our guide will teach important things about this great lake, and after 30 minutes we arrive at the floating islands "Uros". We stop at one of the islands, to personally visit their inhabitants and learn their ways. In the community of "Los Uros" we climb a  "totora" boat and we´ll take a walk around the lake. We will return and continue our journey towards "Amantani" Island.

The trip takes about 3 hours boat. Upon arrival you will be greeted by groups of islanders who provide us with lodging in their native homes. The afternoon is free to explore and share with families. Shortly before sunset, we make a short hike to a small hill known as "Pachatata" where an archeological complex built by ancient cultures that inhabited the island. From this point, we can also see a beautiful sunset. Do not forget to bring your camera. Then we descend to our house and we'll have dinner with our family. Later we will see a folk festival, where we can dance dances with locals. We receive traditional clothing to attend the party. The women are dressed in very colorful skirts and blouses with beautiful hand embroidery and a black veil. The men are dressed in a long poncho and Chuyo (wool cap typical of the Andes).

Once ready, we will go to the party, where we will find too many other tourists for a couple of hours or so.

Day 2º: Taquile Island - Return to Puno in the afternoon.


Begin the day with a breakfast and then, we bid farewell to our family.

We descend to the dock to continue our visit to the Island "Taquile".

The trip will last about an hour.

"Taquile" is a huge island that is known for its handmade looms.

Here visitors can see how the people of the island produces ponchos, belts, gloves and other items typical of the Andes.

To reach the top of the Taquile Island, we walk along a beautiful path, slightly tilted, which offers spectacular views of the lake.

Here you have to walk slowly and calmly as you walk about 3,800 masl

After approximately 45 minutes we come the center of "Taquile" where we can relax and visit a small museum which displays important aspects of the life of the people in "Taquile".

Lunch in a typical restaurant.

After lunch we will have time to visit weaving workshops and take pictures with the Islanders.

Later we will go down to the dock and return to Puno, we reach the city at about 15:30.
